In this article I will explain the importance of this study, and how it does affect natural search engine optimization, in combination with paid search.
What is the golden triangle?
Eye tracking firm Eyetools, with help from search engine marketing firms Enquiro and Did-it, have done a Google study showing a “golden triangle”. This is created by the areas of maximum interest among searchers. During a search, eye tracking activity happens in a triangle at the top of the search results page. This triangular viewing pattern reaches out from the top left of the search results. Searchers normally scan the rest of the listings in “F pattern”, looking laterally at the top results, then vertically, …
I just joined StumbleUpon a few weeks ago. Thought StumbleUpon was only some kind of community for websurfers. However, this week, I saw a lot of traffics from StumbleUpon in Google Analystic. I did some researches online, then I finally realized we could get much more free traffics from StumbleUpon.
What exactly is StumbleUpon? StumbleUpon is a little different from the social bookmarking websites like Digg and Del.ico.us. However, all these three system are working excellently on getting big traffic to your websites. StumbleUpon has now over a million users, it brings you lower traffic than Digg or Del.ico.us, but which still means a lot. Webmasters will never refuse more traffic. More details of StumbleUpon and …
I recently heard that more than 40% of all people with an internet business have only been online for no longer than 6 months. I am not sure about the exact percentage but I can believe that 40%+ is not far away from the truth.
One thing is for sure: Many people start an internet business believing they are going to make a fortune online within a very short period of time. The reality is that very few people actually achieve any sort of online success, especially in the first six months. The result is a constant stream of new webmasters and a constant outflow of disillusioned webmasters.
Most newcomers are totally disillusioned with the internet after …
Jerry Yang and David Filo were graduate students at Stanford University in January of 1994 when they created a website that they called “Jerry’s Guide to the World Wide Web,” a directory that organized other web sites into a hierarchy. Four months later Yang and Filo renamed the search engine Yahoo! after a word used by Jonathan Swift in Gulliver’s Travels. Swift’s definition of Yahoo! was “rude, unsophisticated, uncouth.”
At the end of 1994, approximately twelve months after its creation, Yang and Filo had over one million hits on their fledgling search engine. Understanding that they had designed something that could enjoy potential business success Filo and Yang incorporated Yahoo! early in March of 1995, fourteen …
Alexa Ranking – A Web Site Monetization Strategy?
The main goal that almost all companies have today when dealing with online marketing is to improve their conversion rate. Everybody knows that there are various ways of attracting targeted traffic. Some go for a good place in the Search engine result page, others would be more satisfied with heavier traffic. Either way, everybody sets his goal usually in earning more money.
But, while having a high position in Google may seem to some companies the only way to make themselves known and thus reaching their goal, there are others that think that a good place in the Alexa ranking system might result quite beneficial in the end.
What is …
I’ve learned a lot about search engines and search engine marketing, mostly by trial and error. It’s those countless hours of researching, testing, and failing when I often think it would have been better to let someone else experience it first. Then I could have simply observed and learned. But, I don’t have the patience to stand around and let others fail first. What’s the fun in that?
So, I’ve put together five points that, hopefully, someone else can learn from and avoid the mistakes I made when I first started in the SEO business.
1) Google is the 800 pound gorilla. This is something I learned when I was mostly using pay per click advertising. Google …

There was a time when the internet and e-commerce were dominated by the domain name. Having a good domain name was considered crucial for the success of the business. However, in web 2.0, google came along and changed the scenario completely. Google used a series of algorithms to scan a website for keywords which would then project the website to the top of its rankings. A new term called SEO or search engine optimization came into being. Today SEO keywords are far more crucial than anything else in the success of a website. Hence there are specialized services called as SEO services or search engine optimization services that work on optimizing a website for a …
